About Botany Bath Works
The onset of baby eczema for my son, Ian, began my quest for the
perfect skin care products for him. Complicating the matter was the
fact that he has dozens of allergies and his skin erupts when exposed
to common soap ingredients ranging from fragrance to sunflower
seed oil to wheat germ. Dissatisfied with any products I could find on
the market, I decided to learn to make my own "Ian Soap." My first
batch was a pure olive oil (Castile) soap with soothing oats and honey.
I fell in love with this mild soap which was free of fragrance or any oils
or colorants that could irritate his delicate skin and this simply perfect
soap had me hooked on soap making!
While I was solely focused on skin care needs for my "Ian Soap" I had
another set of requirements for my "Mommy Soap." In addition to
nourishing my dry skin, I wanted my soaps to be an attractive addition
to the wash area and smell like the flowers and herbs in my garden.
With that in mind, I set about incorporating the garden into my soaps
with botanical additions like calendula and rosemary. Soon my
journey to create botanical soaps for my own use expanded into the
Botany Bath product line.
In our home you'll find lots of soaps and we each have our favorite. I
am constantly developing new recipes so browse our soaps and I
suspect you'll find your favorite!
I appreciate your interest in Botany Bath soaps. If you have any
